November to December 2010 Essieisms

Essie is our little Scooby Doo obsessed 3 year old. Her nick name for Polly is "waggy" (aka Shaggy). This is just not a fleeting phase of obsession. We've been on Shaggy for almost a year now. No other story or character comes close to having so much of a special place in her heart. We have Scooby clothes, costumes, toys (on our 4th set of these figurines you see below), and food! She was so excited and just knew Santa would bring her something Scooby that she couldn't even open her own presents. Waggy had to help!
I love me some Scooby!!
Her favorite Scooby phrase "what's up Scoob oh buddy oh pal"
Every present opened was prefaced by "is this a Scooby game"

The IPad has been a nice addition to our family. I rarely see it on most days as everyone else in family is busy playing "talking tom" or "angry birds". And yes, we have Scooby-Doo on the Ipad.

Christmas was easy for Essie this year. She simply wanted every single thing seen on Disney and Nick Jr. channels during Commercial Breaks.

Move over Fresh Beat Band.. here comes the Pollyesther Band!

Perhaps my all time favorite Essieism:
Essie remarked when very very tired and clumsy "mom I need new batteries, I'm not working"!!!!

BFF’s

There was a eagle and golden eagle. They were BFF’s. But one day something happened to the golden eagle. A slime monster got the golden eagle. The golden eagle knew there was danger and then when the eagle came back, he searched everywhere for the golden eagle. Then he was searching till he was 91. And he said it was about time to give up. But friends don’t give up so he kept looking. And then he finally he found the golden eagle in a cave with a broken wing. And then the two eagles gave hugs and they lived happily ever after.

The moral of the story: Don’t give up when there is friends in trouble.

By Polly Jett

Gotta Love this story. As Ms. Polly gets older, the Pollyisms have turned into more stories than comments. I do need to share this one though!

"Mom, I was talking to God and he said snow is Angel Poop, so it's okay to eat it!

I had the pleasure of for the second year in a role hosting our annual Bookclub Christmas Party. We went retro again- this time 70's boogie style.

She gives a new meaning to the phrase "flower child"

Peace sista
Love that Farrah Fawcett hair! I thought they should have come as the "Adams Family" but we did appreciate their hardy boys good looks!
