Luke 14 County Fair

Every year Manley Baptist hosts a special event called the Luke 14th Banquet for individuals with disabilities in our area. This is an amazing event for very special people in our community. Some facilities/individuals drive for hours to make it to this special evening. Manley provides a yummy meal, petting zoo, face painting, lives music, dancing, dunking booth, and other fun county fair activities. It was so rewarding to be a part of this event.! Essie and Polly had a blast!!!

My only regret is that I didn't get a picture of my special buddy Robin who resides at the Crumley House in Limestone TN. She was a lovely lady who suffered a horrible brain injury 30 plus years ago when she was 21. She was in a coma for 5 months and unfortunately her husband died in the accident. She has had a difficult life for such a long time but keeps smiling. We have enjoyed talking on the phone several times since the banquet.

Luke 14:13-14 But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."

Christ the Lord is Risen Today!

Hope everyone has a glorious & blessed Easter from our house to yours!

I am a complete sap for old hymns. Although I do like contemporary christian music I would much rather listen to old hymns like "I Surrender All", "Amazing Grace", "What A Friend We Have In Jesus", "How Great Thou Art", "Old Rugged Cross", and "Take My Life and Let It Be". These are just some of my favorites that get my soul a stirring. I am pretty tradtional in case you haven't fiqured that out about me.

Here is one of my favorite Easter hymns. I especially love the lyrics.

Ten Thousand Angels

Roy Overholt
They bound the hands of Jesus in the garden where He prayed; They led Him thro the streets in shame. They spat upon the Saviour so pure and free from sin; They said "Crucify Him; He's to blame."

Upon His precious head they placed a crown of thorns: They laughed and said, "Behold the King." They struck Him and they cursed Him and mocked His holy name. All alone He suffered everything.

When they nailed Him to the cross, His mother stood nearby; He siad "Woman, behold they son!" He cried, "I thirst for water," but they gave him none to drink. Then the sinful work of man was done.

To the howling mob He yielded; He did not for mercy cry. The cross of shame He took alone. And when He dried, "It's finished," He gave himself to die; Salvations's wondrous plan was done.

Chorus
He could have called ten thousand angel To destroy the world and set Him free. He could have called ten thousand angels, But he died alone for you and me.

Christ The Lord Is Risen Today

Charles Wesley

Christ the Lord is ris'n today, Alleluia!

Sons of men and angels say: Alleluia!

Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!

Sing, ye heav'ns, and earth reply. Alleluia!

Happy Birthday Mrs. Paula!

Hope you have a blessed day celebrating your birthday!!!!!!

A fictional story by Polly " A Parrot was Bored"

Once upon a time, a parrot was pecking wood ( I know what your thinking-not a woodpecker. Didn't you know that parrots can peck wood too). Parrot was very bored. He said he wanted to do something else. But then, it was Easter and the parrot pretended to be the Easter Bunny. But the butterflies, camels, and horses didn't notice him because he was too small for that costume. And then, he breaked the costume and then runned from the Easter Bunny to the REAL Easter bunny. And then, the parrot was very sad but then there was a bear and the parrot flied flied and flied away to his warm cozy home. THE END

The MORAL of this story is you have to do stuff sometimes you don't want to do.

This story is dedicated to my couzins in KY!

Happy 26th Birthday -Ode to Sweet Young Polly

Happy Happy Birthday Sweet Polly (She's the cute blond in the middle). Not to be confused with my little Polly Marie. We all had a Marvelous time celebrating your 26th birthday in KnoxVegas at the Crown & Goose!!!!!
Tricia, Polly, and Tina
Anne, Holly, and Laura

Ms. Polly sporting her vintage 80's hair pieces. I think her favorite gift must of been her 80's retro Pacman game. Ms. Tina felt the need to Purchase Polly vintage 80's while I thought it better to Produce 80's vintage memorabilia. Take a look below!

The caption under this fantastic photo reads "The Year of the Dragon" 1988. I love the big bow on the front of her dress. It's back in style this season!!!!
I had several other photos that Polly's husband Jeff smuggled for me. I really wanted to put them all on this post but I do love Ms. Polly and I'm pretty sure she would ring my neck if I did. Can I just tell you in one of the pics she was smoking a cigarette with high-top pink converse tennis shoes on. I must also point out she was wearing an "alfalfa" t-shirt--ooh it is priceless.
