I'm so encouraged by your progress. So many of you are reporting a drastic change in the number of unglued moments you have!
REMEMBER WE ARE NOT MEETING THE NEXT TWO WEEKS! WE WILL RESUME BIBLE STUDY ON NOVE. 30TH!
MOVIE OF THE WEEK- We forwent the "Song of the Week" to spend a little more time with our unglued Christmas friend "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas". More on Mr. Grinch later.
THOUGHTS OF THE WEEK-
(1) When we come "UNGLUED" we are in essence taking sides- God's side or Satan's. As Lysa so eloquently puts it, "When we dump hurt into one another's lives, we aren't leveling the conflict scale. We are just weighing down the people side of the scale and elevating the Satan side. The secret to healthy conflict resolution isn't taking a you-against-me stance, but realizing it's all of us against Satan-He's the real enemy. A moment of conflict handled the right way is hands down one of the grandest opportunities to shame Satan back to hell (UNGLUED, pages 64-65).
Realizing the active role and footing Satan has in our unglued moments hopefully makes you very angry- angry enough to change! I highly recommend reading "The Screwtape Letters" by C.S. Lewis (you may want to get the cliff notes as well to enhance your understanding).
(2) At the very moment of conflict (written or verbal), we have a choice. A choice to pray for wisdom as to how to handle the situation- a procedure manual of sorts! Remembering the 5 basic principles in Chapter 6 and the conflict resolution template from Chapter 5 are amazing tools! If practiced enough, these skills can become your automatic procedure manual to handling conflict resolution!
QUOTES OF THE WEEK FROM LYSA-
-"Avoiding reality never changes reality"
-"The more my heart is parked in a place of thanksgiving and rejoicing, the less room I have for grumpiness."
-"Gratitude diffuses attitude"
